Patna-Ranchi Vande Bharat exp rake reaches Patna, to run soon

The semi-high speed train, equipped with eight state-of-the-art coaches, to start running from later this month or early next month and will take 6 hours to reach destination

Patna: The excruciating wait of train travellers from Patna and Ranchi to ride the semi high speed train is likely to end soon. The newly built rake of Vande Bharat Express, consisting of eight coaches, to shuttle between Patna and Ranchi has reached Patna from Chennai-based Integral Coach Factory.

The train had a brief stopover at Buxar and Arrah on way to Patna. People were so excited to see the train that some of then were seen taking selfies by touching it on platforms.

Vande Bharat to start running by June-end or early next month

Officials of the east central railway said that the schedule of Patna-Ranchi Vande Bharat would be announced once its inauguration date is finalised by the Prime Minister’s office (PMO). “It may start running by the month-end or early next month,” said a senior railway officer.

People of Patna and Ranchi were anxiously waiting

The people of Bihar were eagerly waiting for Vande Bharat, the first semi-high speed train built in the country. The coaches reached Patna Junction on Tuesday evening. It will be stationed at Rajendra Nagar caching complex until its inauguration. However, engineers would examine every part of the train closely and make it ready for the trial run. The schedule and time-table will be released later.

Officials said that Vande Bharat express had to be stationed at platform number seven at Patna Junction in the evening, as there was no space available for it in the Rajendra Nagar yard.

Route chart finalised for Vande Bharat express

Indian Railways officials said that there is a plan to run Vande Bharat Express via Hazaribagh, Barkakana, Sidhwar Sanki, Tati Silwae, the new rail line built between Patna and Ranchi. On the first day, this train will go on special inaugural run between Patna to Ranchi and return to Patna.

The distance will be covered in six hours

According to the information received, there will be secondary maintenance of Patna-Ranchi Vande Bharat train at Rajendra Nagar Coaching Complex. However, primary maintenance of the train will be done at Ranchi. Rajendra Nagar coaching complex has been kept fully prepared for its maintenance. After the arrival of its new rake at Rajendra Nagar, there will be a technical test.

The technical side and safety aspects will be closely examined during the trial run. Vande Bharat express will cover the distance between Patna to Ranchi in six hours. Currently, the fastest train on this route in Jan Shatabi Express, which takes about 7.30 hours.
