Mumbai: Royal Enfield’s Interceptor 650 has got a new competitor in the Indian market. It’s Mahindra’s BSA Gold Star 650. Both the bikes have a decent old school look and very powerful engine performance. Both the competitors are so appealing in power, performance and look that the bike aficionados would certainly find it difficult to choose the best.

Strong features of BSA Gold Star 650

Unlike RE’s Interceptor 650, which comes with a 648 cc air cooled engine, Gold Star 650 has 652 cc displacement with 5 speed manual transmission. Kerb weight of the cruiser bike is around 201kg and has fuel tank capacity of 12 litres. BSA Gold Star 650 bike has disc brake on both the front wheel and the rear wheels with tubeless tires, It also has the provision for mobile charging.

Design 

On the design front, it’s an old-school motorcycle. It’s quintessentially retro with bare minimum body panels and a round design theme followed all across. This top-end Legacy Edition in particular, with its chrome elements, looks elegant. Small details like the contrast stitching on the seat, the tiny, British flag and the small logo with riffles on the side panels give the Gold Star 650 an elegant look.

And apart from this, you will get to see a 5.3 inch LED screen in this bike. In which you will see all the details like speed mileage performance of the bike and this bike will be seen with all the features like speedometer odometer trip meter digital instrument cluster.

BSA Gold Star 650 mileage and engine

Mahindra’s BSA Gold Star 650 bike comes with dual channel ABS system and disc brakes. This bike generates 13100 rpm of 21.42 bhp power and 9870 rpm at 17.43 nm. Along with this, in the bike you will get to see mileage of about 24 to 25 km in 1 liter of petrol, which is quite like most of the 650 bikes of Royal Enfield.

BSA Gold Star 650 Price

Ex-showroom price of the BSA Gold Star 650 bike starts at ₹ 2.99 lakh in the Indian market. RE’s Interceptor 650 costs about ₹3.21 lakh.
