Jamshedpur Kolkata Flight launched

Jamshedpur: Jharkhand chief minister Hemant Soren on Tuesday flagged off the first commercial flight operation from Sonari airport in Jamshedpur to Kolkata. The nine-seater single enginer aircraft of IndiaOne Air, a Gujarat-based airline company, took off Sonari at 10.15 hrs for Kolkata which reached Kolkata at 11.20 hrs. All the seats on the nine-seat plane were full on the first day.

Soren, on the occasion, said that the launch of Jamshedpur-Kolkata flight is a new initiative in the field of air traffic and hoped that air services from Jamshedpur to other cities would launched soon.

New airports being developed

The chief minister said that the state currently has five-six airport as of now. The state government has proposed a new airport in Sahibganj. “The government is preparing an action plan to connect all districts with air services to promote air connectivity in the state. Enhanced air connectivity would allow people to have travel at affordable cost,” added Soren.

MoCA urged to help operationalise pilot training institute

Asserting that the state government is working out plans to improve air connectivity in the state, the CM urged Union civil aviation minister Jyotiraditya Scindia to complete the formalities related to licensing and safety of this pilot training center at Sonari at the earliest so that it would impart training to aspiring pilots a big way.

Ticket to Kolkata from Jamshedpur to cost ₹1999

India One Air is offering air travel from Jamshedpur to Kolkata at the cost of ₹1999. The airline is set to launch Jamshedpur to Bhubaneswar flight at ₹2,999 per passenger very soon. Officials said that the tickets can be booked from the airline’s website soon.

Attending the event virtually from New Delhi, Union minister of civil aviation minister Scindia, said that the launch of air services from Jamshedpur to Kolkata is a glimpse of the Centre’s determination to bring air services to the masses across the country. He said air connectivity is being expanded at a fast pace under the flight service. “While many airlines around the world have shut their operation in the last two decades, the arrival of three new airlines in India is a good sign,” said Scindia, adding that the initiatives are being taken to connect Jamshedpur to Kolkata and Bhubaneswar by air.

Daily flight between Jamshedpur & Kolkata

IndiaOne Air‘s 9-centre Grand Caravan X (C208B) is providing flights from Jamshedpur to Kolkata and from Kolkata to Jamshedpur. With this plan, India-One Air is expanding its connectivity to Jharkhand, West Bengal and Odisha. The service will be operational daily from 1 February.

State ministers Satyanand Bhokta and Banna Gupta, CM’s secretary Vinay Kumar Choubey, deputy commissioner, East Singhbhum, Vijaya Jadhav and SP Prabhat Kumar were present, while IndiaOne Air CEO Arun Kumar Singh attended the event online.
