IIT Patna launches M Tech course in artificial intelligence

It is a two-year course and only a batch of 30 students would be admitted in the initial batch, which has June 14 as the last date to apply

Patna: IIT Patna has announced the launch an M Tech course on artificial intelligence (AI) from the current academic session. The course would be launched under its technical innovation hub unit set up as the Centre of excellence, said an official of the institute.

This course will provide a platform for the students to become proficient in the broad areas of text, speech and video analytics. It is a two-year course and only a batch of 30 students would be admitted in the initial batch. The students aspiring for master’s degree in the AI from IIT-Patna can apply by June 14 on the link https://www.iitp.ac.in/mtech_admission/tih/tih_form.

Benefits the course

MTech in Artificial Intelligence program will teach students about core and applied artificial intelligence, especially speech, video and text analytics. The objective of this program is to provide platform to the students to pursue career in academics as well as industry. At the same time, students will be able to learn undergraduate computing skills with up-to-date and in-depth expertise in specialized areas of AI such as speech, text and video analytics.

At the end of this programme, officials said, students will be able to develop their understanding for the basic concepts of AI, machine learning, big data, robotics, cloud computing, speech processing, computer vision and natural language processing.

Besides, the trained students can also be able to visualize and design state-of-the-art systems to meet the broad objectives of cyber physical systems and get skills to solve critical and applied problems related to speech processing, video analytics and text analytics.

Eligibility criteria

The students, who have done B Tech or bachelor in engineering (BE) are qualified to apply, provided they have a degree in computer science / information technology (IT / ECE / EE) or finished the masters in computer application (MCA).

Application fee

Students belonging to general/economically weaker sections (EWS) or other backward classes are deemed to pay the application fee of ₹1000/-. The students representing SC/ST/PWD and women need to pay ₹500/- as application charge.

Procedure to apply

The students should pay the application fee online through SBI Collect very carefully. Application fee once deposited will not be returned . After payment, a reference/journal number will be generated, which has to be mentioned in the application form. After making the payment, preserve the e-receipt. The form will be rejected if the application fee is not submitted.
