BYJU’S names renowned footballer Messi as its global ambassador

The company aims to make the best of football’s popularity for global venture, as the game has 3.5 billion fans worldwide

Kolkata: BYJU’S, the leading education technology company, on Friday announced football star and global sports icon Lionel “Leo” Messi as the global brand ambassador of its social impact wing, Education For All. The move followed the company’s plan to expand its footprint across the globe.

Messi, who plays for Paris Saint-Germain and captains the Argentinian football team, has earlier signed a deal with BYJU’S to promote the cause of equitable education. This association with Messi, one of the most popular sportspersons in the world in line with the BYJU’S commitment to make education accessible, equitable, and affordable for all.

Struggling to deal with financial strains at home, the BYJU’S sought expand its horizon to other country and for that it became the official sponsor of the FIFA World Cup 2022 in Qatar. The company aims to make the best of football’s popularity, as the game has 3.5 billion fans worldwide. Messi alone has social media following of nearly 450 million. Now Messi will be featured in activities of the Education for All segments.

Widely acknowledged as the world’s best passer, the best dribbler, and the best free-kick taker, the seven-time Ballon d’Or winner attributes his success to his commitment to learn more every day. BYJU’S believes Messi will be an ideal mentor for hundreds of millions of young people around the world through his unwavering work ethic, study of the game, and love for learning.
