Ayodhya to figure on train, flight route ahead of Ram Temple launch

PM Narendra Modi will flag off a Vande Bharat Exp & an Amrit Bharat Superfast trains, connecting the city, which will also see maiden flight operation of Air India Express from Delhi on Dec 30

Ayodhya: The historic city of Ayodhya will be put high on the travel destination list with launch of renovated railway station and Maryada Purushottam Shri Ram International airport by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on December 30, ahead of the formal opening of majestic Ram Temple on January 22.

During his visit to Ayodhya, PM Modi will flag off a Vande Bharat Express and an Amrit Bharat Superfast train, connecting the city, which will also see the maiden flight operation of Air India Express from Delhi. While the commercial launch of both Anand Vihar-Ayodhya Vande Bharat Express and Anand Vihar-Darbhanga Amrit Bharat Express via Ayodhya is scheduled to commence from January 1, Air India Express will start its scheduled flight operation from Delhi on January 16.

Six Vande Bharat and two Amrit Bharat Express to be flagged off

The PM is scheduled to flag off a total of six Vande Bharat Express trains and two Amrit Bharat Express on Saturday. Maa Vaishno Devi Katra-Delhi, Amritsar-Delhi, Coimbatore-Bangalore Cantt, Mangalore-Madgaon Vande Bharat express trains and Malda town-Bengaluru Amrit Bharat Express will also be launched, apart from Delhi-Ayodhya Vande Bharat and Anand Vihar-Darbhanga Amrit Bharat express trains.

Flight operations from Ayodhya

Although Tata Sons owned Air India Express will take the inaugural flight from Delhi to Ayodhya on December 30, it will begin the scheduled flight operation from Delhi from January 16. On December 31, the Air India Express flight (IX 2789) will depart from Delhi at 11 and land at Ayodhya airport at 12.20. It (IX1769) will take off from Ayodhya at 12.50 and reach Delhi at 14.10.

However, as per the normal schedule, Air India Express flight (IX1590) is scheduled to take off from Delhi at 10 am and reach Ayodhya at 11.20 am. The flight (IX1592) will depart Ayodhya at 11.50 to reach Delhi at 12.55.

Indigo to connect Ayodhya with Delhi, Ahmedabad & Mumbai

Indigo to start its commercial operations of its Delhi-Ayodhya flight on January 6 and will later connect the city with Ahmedabad and Mumbai from January 11 and 15 respectively. The Indigo announced the Mumbai-Ayodhya flight only recently.

Vinay Malhotra, head of global sales, Indigo, said that the flight (6E 5378) will take off from Mumbai at 12.30pm and reach Ayodhya at 14.45 and the return flight (6E 5379) will leave Ayodhya at 15.15 and reach Mumbai at 17.40.

Ayodhya Airport to be inaugurated on Dec 30

PM Modi will also inaugurate the newly built Maryada Purushottam Shri Ram International Airport on December 30. Built the cost of $42 million, its sprawling terminal building constructed on 6500 square metre plot, is equipped to handle around 300 passengers at a time during peak hours and around 6 lakh travellers in a whole year
