Students allege CTET question paper leak, CBSE maintains silence

New Delhi: The hashtag “CTET paper leak” flooded the social media platforms, minutes before the central teachers’ eligibility test (CTET-2024), conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Examination (CBSE), commenced at various centres across the country on Sunday.

Many teachers’ aspirants had taken to Twitter with the hashtag CTETLeak, claiming that question papers of the CTET exam was circulating on various social media platforms as well as in physical forms. Some of the handles on twitter shared the screenshots of both the papers, I & II, minutes before the examination began.

The students claimed that some of the students were seen carrying photocopy of the exam papers with answers at a few centres in Patna, Varanasi and Delhi. However, there is no update from the CBSE till the time of filing of this report.

A senior officer of the CBSE, wishing anonymity, said that they (CBSE officials) came to know about question leak in the afternoon. “However, it was yet to be ascertained whether the leaked papers on circulation, were original or fake one. The CBSE in all likelyhood will set up a committee to probe the reports of question paper leak,” he said.

CBSE conducted the CTET 2024 exam on January 21, 2024. The CTET exam was held with a little change this year. The CTET Paper-II was held in shift 1 (9:30 am to 12:00 noon) and Paper 1 was held in Shift 2 (2:00 pm to 4:30 pm). Lakhs of candidates appeared for the CTET January 2024 exam.

Several social media platforms got flooded with outbursts from candidates stating that the CTET exam paper 2024 was leaked a few minutes before the exam. Both the papers of the CTET 2024 were leaked, as per the information shared by candidates on social media platforms.

Candidates have flooded the social media platform Twitter, now X, with the hashtag CTETLeak stating that the CTET question paper 2024 for Paper 1 and Paper 2 was leaked. Candidates are urging the CBSE to cancel the exam.

Will the CBSE Cancel the CTET 2024 Exam?

As of now, the CBSE has not made any announcement in the matter of the CTET paper leak. However, if the CTET 2024 question paper has been leaked in reality, then the board will carry out the required investigation and then the decision will be made to cancel the CTET January 2024 exam. In case the CTET exam gets cancelled, the CBSE will then carry out the re-examination.
