Building Plan Approval Patna

Patna: Good news for builders, developers and those planning to build their own houses. The Patna municipal corporation (PMC) has decided to relaunch the process of accepting building plans for approval from May 30. As usual, all the building maps will be accepted for clearances on its official web portal, said an official.

However, the re-launch, the PMC has organised a workshop for builders/ developers along with architects and engineers to help them understand the process for online submission of the applications. “We have invited all prominent builders, town planners and architects to attend the workshop on Tuesday, after which the portal would be opened for accepting the building plans,” said the chief engineer.

The process of building plans’ approval has been disrupted for the last one year, ever since the state urban development and housing department (UDHD) amending the building bye-laws in February last year. Discontinuing old practice of accepting plans from the panel of architects and structural engineers, authorised by the urban local bodies (ULBs), the amended provision of the bye-laws stipulated that only the UDHD registered architects/engineers and building planners are allowed to do the processes for all ULBs.

As the architects and structural engineers took time to register themselves with the UDHD, the process of building plan approvals across the state had to suffer. In keeping with huge pendency of the building plans, mostly at the PMC, the state government allowed the ULB’s old panel of architects and engineers to process clearance of the plans by the end of March this year.

“However, the relaxation was a temporary arrangement and for the time being. Now as many as 794 architects, structural engineers and builders have registered themselves with the UDHD for processing the building plans for approval. They are entitled to do it for all the ULBs across the state,” said a town planner of the UDHD.
