New Delhi: NTPC Renewable Energy, a subsidiary of NTPC Green Energy, has floated a tender to invite bids from reputed agencies for setting up 1,400 MW grid-connected solar projects at two different solar parks in Uttar Pradesh (UP). The solar parks will be established at Lalitpur (2×300 MW) and Chitrakoot (2×400 MW). Interest firms have been asked to submit their bids until January 13, 2025.
As per the bid document, the tender comes in Balance of System (BoS) package for constructing solar projects in Lalitpur and Chitrakoot Solar Parks, developed by TUSCO in Uttar Pradesh. The qualified bidder will design and commission the solar plants, excluding the supply of solar PV modules, which will be supplied by NTPC REL as a free-issue item.

The scope of work includes the design and construction of foundations and the erection of fixed-tilt module mounting structures (MMS) for SPV panels with a DC: AC ratio of 1.45. This includes fixing the PV modules and interconnecting them.
The selected agency is also expected to design and install a module cleaning system using the robotic dry-cleaning method, including the supply and installation of all required accessories.

The bidder will also have to undertake all associated electrical and civil works interface with the grid, such as transformers, panels, protection systems, cables, and metering at the 33kV level. As per the regulation, the bidder also required conducting a grid compliance assessment and evacuate power to the 33k switchgear of the substation provided by the owner through 33KV cables and insta SCADA, PPC panels, and associated equipment in the main control room.
The scope of work also envisages designing, supplying, commissioning dynamic reactive power compensation equipment (20%) and all other equipment required for power quality control by the selected bidder. This includes harmonic filters and flicker compensators to comply with grid connectivity regulations. The tender mandates compliance with the “Report of the Working Group in respect of Data Submission Procedure and Verification of Compliance to CEA Regulations on Technical Standards for Connectivity to the Grid by RE Generators, July 2022.” The grid compliance study will be conducted by the owner, based on inputs provided by the bidder.
