Goods trains collide in West Bengal’s Bankura dist, hits train service

Bankura (West Bengal): Two goods trains collided with each other near West Bengal’s Bankura in the wee hours of Sunday, resulting in the derailment of several boogies. The incident took place at Ondagram station, reports said.

Movement of several trains has been disrupted on the Kharagpur–Bankura–Adra line has been halted after the accidents. Efforts are on to remove the debris and store normal movement trains, said a senior officer of south eastern railway.

“As many as 14 trains have been cancelled, three diverted and two short terminated due to the derailment of goods train at Ondagram station of Adra rail division today,” said south eastern railway.
