Patna: With the state elections barely nine-ten months away, the Bihar government has begun offering relief to around 2 lakh teachers by allowing them to have their choice posting.
After offering Niyojit teachers the state employees’ status, the education department has launched the process of voluntary transfer-posting of teachers of government schools on the basis of special circumstances.

1.60 lakh teachers have applied for transfer on distance basis
Director of primary education Pankaj Kumar has issued guidelines in this regard on Friday (December 3). Almost all 1.90 lakh teachers, who have become exclusive teachers after passing the competency tests, have applied for posting on the basis of special circumstances. The government has clarified after taking online applications from 1 to 15 December. About 1.60 lakh male and female teachers have applied for transfer-posting on the basis of distance.
Transfer orders can be issued in four phases
According to the order of the director of primary education, in the first phase, transfer will be done on the basis of incurable disease (cancer, kidney, liver, heart disease, disability, autism, widowhood, adulthood). Orders can be issued from between January 6 and 7.

In the second phase, transfer is to be done on the basis of posting of husband/wife. Female teachers will have to wait for the third phase of transfer to get posted at their preferred schools on the basis of distance. Likewise, male teachers can opt for transfer on the basis of distance of their schools from home in the fourth phase.
Transfer-related information on e-Shiksha Kosh
Officials said that the first phase transfer will be “one by one” and the application for transfer will be scrutinized again in a phased manner. As many as 16 officials have been deputed for the scrutiny of applications.Data operators have been kept out of look in the scrutiny. Transfer related information will be available on e-Shiksha Kosh. No information will be available through SMS or telephone.

The transfer of teachers of the first, second and third phase categories is possible from this month. Optional transfer posting of male teachers based on distance will be done after the inter-matric examination. Transfer-posting of special teachers and teachers will be done simultaneously.
