New Delhi: Smartphone maker Apple finally unveiled its new iPhone 15 series at the Wonderlust event today. The event, which was broadcast live from the company’s headquarters in Cupertino at 10:30 pm (Indian time), also witnessed launches of Apple Air Pods and new generation watches.

The Apple event was short, sweet and appealing to match culture of the iPhone maker. The show started with the Apple Watch Series 9, which for the first time features gesture control. The company calls it double tap and it can do multiple functions when a user touches their thumb and finger twice in quick succession.

The Apple announced the standard model of iPhone 15 and the iPhone 15 Plus came equipped with the capabilities of Dynamic Island, as well as a new 48MP camera, and more rounded edges.

iPhone 15 Pro & Pro Max equipped with A17 Pro, 3nm chipset

The iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max, which were also released are equipped with the new A17 Pro chipset, which is a 3-nanometer chipset. Apple claims this is 10 times more performance-heavy than its predecessor, and it is comparable to PCs. The new chipset will help with neural learning as well as machine learning capabilities. Users will also be able to take advantage of the more powerful GPU and use it to play games in a higher resolution than ever before.

iPhone 15 Pro Max has 5x optical zoom, 10x for macro lens

The iPhone 15 Pro Max also gets a new 120mm lens that is capable of taking 5X optical zoom, and 10X zoom for macro photography. The ultrawide lens also gets improvements. The iPhone 15 starts at $799 (₹79,900) for 128GB variant, the iPhone 15 Plus starts at $899 (₹89,900) for the 128GB variant, the iPhone 15 Pro starts at $999 (₹1,34,900) for the 128GB variant, and the iPhone 15 Pro Max starts at $1199 (₹1,59,900) for the 256GB variant.

Camera quality of iPhone 15 Pro has been improved so that one can record spatial videos and get 4K 60 FF recording and all-around improvements on video recording. The new lens will allow the iPhone 15 Pro Max to get 5X optical zoom. Apple designed a new lens to allow it to fit the longer focal length. Apple is calling it a tetra prism design. The Ultrawide lens also gets multiple upgrades. Plus, macro photography is also possible on the iPhone 15 Pro Max.

48MP camera

The new Photonic engine uses the 48MP cameras allow .users to take DSLR-like images. Two times better low light performance and a new night mode powered by Photonic engine will also be supported. Latest smart HDR gives a greater dynamic range.

With the help of the new A17 Pro chipset and the new GPU, the device can allow gamers to play games such as Genshin Impact, Resident Evil 4, as well as other graphics intensity games in a much higher resolution and frame rate.

The neural engine is twice as fast, 35 trillion operations can be learnt easily. Autocorrect, creating personal voice and more can be done much faster. A display engine that powers ProMotion has also been added. High quality video experience for streaming services also has been added.

The company also launched the Apple Watch Ultra 2. It also gets the same hand gestures, one unique watch face, and high-level improvements due to the new chipset.
