Patna: Come August and train travellers will have the executive lounge facility at Patna junction, like those on the airports. On the arrival or before boarding the trains, passengers can have a refreshing break and prepare for any meeting before or after carrying on their journey. However, the passengers require paying the cost of availing the facility.
Lounge to open in August
“It’s being prepared in double-floors on the eastern side of platform number 1. The project was to complete by June 23. However, the construction company has been given one month additional time to finish the project,” said a railway officer, familiar with the project, adding that the actual tariff would be decided at the time of its inauguration.
Patna will be 6th station to have lounge
Patna junction will be the seventh location where the train travellers will have the executive lounge facility. New Delhi, Agra, Jaipur, Sealdah, Ahmedabad and Madurai are the other stations where similar amenities have been operational. Officials said that the passengers could be changed in the range of ₹100-200 per hour.
Facilities at executive lounge
The passengers will have comfortable sofas, recliners, snacks, tea and coffee, round the clock lunch, cold-drinks, cosmetic items for ladies, video and other fun games. There will be arrangement for showers along with shampoo, soaps and towels on payment. Newspapers, television with satellite channels and internet will be available free of cost.
The inmates can have delicious food of their choice such as veg and non-veg in the range of ₹250-385. Machines to polish shoes and sophisticated business centre will also be available for the convenience of the inmates.
