Textile ministry PSU comes on board ONDC net to expand market

New Delhi: The Central Cottage Industries Corporation of India Ltd. (CCIC), a public sector undertaking (PSU) under the ministry of textiles, has tied up with the Open Network for Digital Commerce (ONDC) to expand its market presence and make its exquisite range of handicrafts and handloom products accessible to customers across various buyer apps.

The mobile applications will take the customers on the ONDC network to purchase the products. The CCIC was put on board the ONDC network at a function held at the corporation’s showroom at Jawahar Vyapar Bhawan, Janpath, New Delhi, yesterday. The CCIC also launched its promotional campaign by opening of ‘Mega Sale’.

Rachna Shah, secretary, ministry of textiles chaired the event that marked onboarding of CCIC on the ONDC digital platform and inauguration of ‘Mega Sale’ in presence of ministry’s joint secretary and managing director of CCIC Ajay Gupta and T Koshy, MD & CEO, ONDC.

The mega sale, which was launched to support artisans and weavers and to contribute towards the vision of Atmanirbhar Bharat and Vocal 4 Local initiatives, will continue till July 23rd. In this campaign up to 30% discount has been offered on handicraft & handloom products to promote traditional art, craft and craft persons of India. Each product being displayed under the promotional scheme is genuine, exclusive and authentic and with the assurance of authenticity, quality and value for money, claimed a senior officer of CCIS.
