BPSC releases syllabus for recruitment test for 1.78 lakh teachers

Questions will be of objective and multiple choice type and there will be negative marking for every wrong answer

Patna: Going ahead with its plan to recruit around 1.78 lakh teachers, the Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) has released the syllabus for the competitive examination to be conducted in the next few months. However, the BPSC has not yet announced the schedule for the examination.

As approved by the state cabinet, the BPSC has been authorised to prepare the merit list of candidates through competitive examination for their appointments in primary, secondary and higher secondary schools.

As per the syllabus, all the aspirants need to undertake the test of language in two parts of 100 marks. The first part will be of English (of 25 marks) and 2nd part will be of Hindi/Urdu/Bengali  languages. The candidates need to opt any of the three languages. The 2nd part carries 75 marks. They need to get at least 30 marks to qualify for the assessment.

The aspirants for primary schools need to undertake general studies paper (of 150 marks) along with the language test. It consists of elementary mathematics, mental ability test, general awareness, general science, social science, Indian national movements, geography and environment.  The questions of general studies will be related to the syllabus of the primary school but its standard according to the prescribed minimum qualification of the candidate.

Those aspiring for their selection as secondary school teachers need to undertake the subject paper (100 marks) besides the general studies paper of 50 marks. The examination will be conducted two parts simultaneously in two hours. Candidate has to opt any one of the papers from Hindi, Bengali, Urdu, Maithili, Sanskrit, Bhojpuri, Arabic, Persian, English, Science, Mathematics & Social Science. The questions of subject paper will be related to the syllabus of the Secondary School but its standard according to the prescribed minimum qualification of the candidate.

Part-II will be of general studies, consisting of elementary mathematics, general awareness, general science, Indian national movements and geography. The questions of general studies will be related to the syllabus of the secondary school but its standard according to the prescribed minimum qualification of the candidate.

Similarly, those seeking their appointment as higher secondary school teachers need to undertake examination in two parts, of which one will be the subject paper (100 marks) and the other will be general studies (50 marks).

For subject paper, the Candidate has to opt any one of the papers in Hindi, Urdu, English, Sanskrit, Bengali, Maithili, Magahi, Arabic, Persian, Bhojpuri, Pali, Prakrit, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Botany, Zoology, History, Political Science, Geography, Economics, Sociology, Psychology, Philosophy, Home Science, Computer Science, Commerce Accountancy, Music  & Entrepreneurship.  The questions of subject paper will be related to the syllabus of the higher secondary school but its standard according to the prescribed minimum qualification of the candidate.
