Ranchi to get 3 flyovers by 2024, get rid of frequent traffic jams

Ranchi: The people of Ranchi will get three flyovers the next year. Three flyovers are being constructed simultaneously in the capital city of Jharkhand. The construction of the flyovers will largely alleviate the issues of traffic jams in the city and provide pace to the city as well.

The long-delayed Kantatoli flyover, being constructed by Jharkhand urban infrastructure development corporation (Juidco), in Ranchi is now gaining momentum. The work on the flyover from Sirmatoli Chowk to Doranda Rajendra Chowk started six months ago, but it is also gaining momentum. The work of Ratu Road flyover has also progressed. Engineers involved in the construction of the flyover would complete by 2024.

About 40% of the work on the Kantatoli flyover has been completed, while work on the flyover from Sirmatoli Chowk to Doranda Rajendra Chowk started just four months ago. So far, 20% of the work has been completed. The Ratu Road flyover is also about 30% complete.

The Kantatoli flyover is to be constructed with 44 pillars, of which 32 have been erected. “Very soon, we will start placing girders and spans from one end, where pillars were laid first,” said an engineer. The flyover is about 2.24km long. Engineers involved in the construction work said that sloping work between Bahubazar Chowk and Kantatoli would start in the next 15 days.

The construction of the flyover (elevated road) between Piska More and Ratu Road in Ranchi has been completed by about 30%. About a dozen pillars have been completed. The remaining work will be completed by 2024. The engineers said that according to the pace of work, the work will be completed on schedule. Sloping work will begin by July, as preparations has been complete for that.

About 20% of the work on the flyover from Sirmatoli to Rajendra Chowk in Ranchi has been completed, with 40% of the work from Sirmatoli Chowk to Patel Chowk completed. 15 pillars have been erected here. Seven pillars will be erected soon.
