New Delhi: Covid19 cases are surging again in India. With one more death and detection of 58 new cases of corona virus infection on Thursday, the total number of Covid infected patients in the country has risen to 318, as per the information released by the Union health ministry.
According latest update from the Union ministry of health and family welfare, the total number of people who lost their lives due to Covid-19 infection in the country now stands at 5,33,298, while the total number of people infected with Corona virus is 4,50,01,944. A total of 4,44,68,328 infected patients have recovered from the pandemic that engulfed India in 2020.

At the same time, the recovery rate from infection in the country is 98.81%, while the death rate is 1.19%. A total of more than 220.67 crore doses of anti-Covid-19 vaccines have been administered in India so far.
Kerala sees spike in Covid infections
Reports state that entire family of a doctor in Kerala got infected with Covid-19 recently. First the middle-aged doctor got infected and then his wife and then his parents also got infected. The elderly parents had to be admitted to the hospital.

Doctors say that the immunity attained by human bodies from vaccines is now weakening. Secondly, winter season is also causing increase in cases. There are currently 194 active cases in Kerala, which is 61% of the total cases in the country.
7% of 141 tested found positive for Covid in a Kochi hospital
It is not clear whether the number of seriously ill patients with the virus has increased. However, state governments have started monitoring the situation. Covid infection was found in 7.09% of 141 tests conducted in Kochi’s Rajgiri Hospital in November.
A 60-year-old lady dies in Himachal Pradesh
Recently, Himachal Pradesh saw the death of a person due to Corona after a long time. A Covid infected woman died yesterday at Indira Gandhi Medical College and Hospital (IGMC), Shimla. However, the woman was also suffering from other diseases, which made the hospital to alert all the indoor patients to take precautions.

The 60-year-old female patient was admitted to IGMC Hospital on November 22. She was put in isolation ward once the diagnosed her to be infected by Covid. The woman died yesterday afternoon due to her critical condition. The woman is said to have taken both doses of vaccines along with the booster dose. Earlier on October 10, two Covid patients had died in IGMC Hospital in course of treatment.
More than 5.19 lakh tests have been conducted for Covid in Himachal Pradesh and 4214 persons have died due to the pandemic in the state so far.
