Ranchi: The city traffic police have diverted movement of vehicles from the important Kantatoli Chowk on Hazaribagh road owing to jams caused by construction of the flyover from September 9. The traffic diversion has been made on an experimental basis.
Kantatoli Chowk in an important junction, which connects traffic routes of Ranchi with Jamshedpur and Hazaribag.
The route of cars and bikes along with autos and e-rickshaws has also been diverted due to the commencement of intenisve construction work of Kantatoli flyover.
Cars and bikes going towards Kantatoli Chowk from Birsa Chowk, Sujata Chowk, Munda Chowk (Siramtoli) should take the road from Bahu Bazar Chowk to Karbala Chowk, pass through Basartoli in front of St. Paul’s School and exit near Bishop School.
Auto and e-rickshaw route diverted
Autos and e-rickshaws travelling from Birsa Chowk, Sujata Chowk, Munda Chowk (Siramtoli Chowk) to Kantatoli Chowk will not be allowed to operate from Bahu Bazar Chowk to Kantatoli Chowk. Autos and e-rickshaws coming from the respective routes will proceed towards Bahu Bazar Chowk via Karbala Chowk-Mission Chowk-Plaza Chowk-Nucleus Mall Chowk to their destination.
Similarly, autos and e-rickshaws will be able to reach their destinations from Ratu Road, Radium Chowk (Kachhari Chowk), Nucleus Mall Chowk, Lalpur Chowk, Dangra Toli Chowk, Kantatoli Chowk, Bahu Bazar Chowk and Munda Chowk.
Besides, parking of any kind of vehicles such as autos, e-rickshaws and other vehicles around a distance of 50 meters from Kantatoli Chowk has been banned. In-charge traffic SP Anshuman Kumar said on Thursday that the route of autos and e-rickshaws has been diverted on a trial basis since September 9 due to the Kantatoli flyover construction work.
