Patna: A month after unveiling the electric vehicles (EV) policy, the Bihar transport department has decided to organise an EV Conclave-cum-EV Expo here at Hotel Maurya on 11 January. Many top-notch vehicle manufacturing companies like Tata Motors, Maruti, Mahindra & Mahindra, etc, are likely to participate in the event and showcase their latest EVs at the expo.
Bihar transport department secretary Sanjay Kumar Aggarwal said that along with the exhibition of electric vehicles, special discussions will be held by subject experts on EV technology and charging infrastructure in different sessions. Batteries, charging technology and accessories related to the EV industry will also be shown. The program will be inaugurated by transport department minister Sheela Kumari.

The transport secretary said that through the EV Conclave, people will get an opportunity to know, see and understand about the electric vehicle industry, environment-friendly transportation facility, electric vehicle technology, battery technology, accessories, service and latest updates. In fact, this event will be a big step towards solutions regarding eco-friendly (environmentally safe) transportation.
In this expo event, e-vehicle companies will display their latest pollution-free EVs (electric vehicles). Lithium ion batteries and latest charging solutions will also be showcased at this event.

This EV Expo event is an important step to promote the electric vehicle sector. This will not only reduce the environmental pollution caused by petrol and diesel vehicles but is also an important step towards promoting awareness about the utility of electric vehicles in the future.
In the early last month, the state cabinet approved the Bihar Electric Vehicle Policy 2023 to promote the growth of EVs in the state. The policy seeks to enhance the share of EVs to 15% in all vehicle registrations in Bihar by 2028. The conclave, being organised jointly by the WRI India, is also being organised to created awareness about the incentives worked out by the state government for promotion of EVs and thereby help reduce the carbon emission.
