Patna: Air connectivity to Mithila region with the national capital of Delhi and financial capital of Mumbai is set to get better in coming weeks, as IndiGo has decided to introduce Delhi-Darbhanga daily flight from December 12 and 1. The airline has started the booking of tickets on Darbhanga-Delhi route in advance from today (October 30).
Currently, only SpiceJet operates a single flight between Delhi and Darbhanga. The IndiGo flight will take off from Darbhanga at 2:45 pm and will reach Delhi at 6:50 pm in 2 hours and 5 minutes. The starting one-way fare of IndiGo flight between Darbhanga and Patna is ₹5,435.
The IndiGo airline has already launched ticket booking for its scheduled flight between Darbhanga and Mumbai. IndiGo’s flight will take off from Darbhanga-Mumbai route from December 1. Booking for direct flight service is open. However, IndiGo’s flight will take off from Darbhanga-Mumbai route four days a week, i.e. Sunday, Monday, Wednesday and Friday.

The flight will depart from Darbhanga at 1.15 pm and reach Mumbai airport at 4.10 pm. The journey will take a total of 2 hours and 55 minutes. Currently, IndiGo has kept the price of one ticket at ₹7,117. With the availability of air travel between Darbhanga to the capital Delhi and the economic capital Mumbai, lakhs of people of North Bihar will benefit. At the same time, the development of Mithila will also get a boost.
Rajya Sabha member and a prominent leader of Mithilanchal Sanjay Kumar Jha wrote on “X”: “We are happy to share that booking for Indigo’s daily flight between #Darbhanga to Delhi will start from this evening. The first flight will be on 12 December. Before this, booking for Indigo flight between Darbhanga and Mumbai has already started.”

Jha, who has been raising his voice for betterment of air facilities at Darbhanga airport, said that the availability of air travel between Darbhanga to the country’s capital Delhi and the economic capital Mumbai would benefit lakhs of people of North Bihar. He described the announcement of additional flight operation from Darbhanga as Diwali gift to the people of Mithila region.
